Vintage Underground, the West Coast's leading vintage car restoration and build shop, is excited to bring you the Lap of the Woods, and 800+ mile driving tour exploring the unspoiled backroads and most compelling scenery of Southern Oregon.

Open to all makes and models 1991 and older, the Lap of the Woods welcomes driver/co-driver teams to enjoy covering significant miles each day, expertly handling your car through some of the most picturesque and breathtaking sights that Oregon has to offer. This is not a race or timed event, but a series of terrific drives punctuated by breaks to enjoy warm, simple hospitality in the company of your fellow enthusiasts.

The 2026 Lap of the Woods traverses four National forests, the high desert of Bend, Florence's rolling sand dunes, the rugged Pacific coastline and quaint seaside towns, giant redwoods, iconic Crater Lake, and much more.

Your entry includes lodgings at our 5 overnight destinations, entrance to all activities, and even some of your meals. At other locations you'll choose your own dining options from a variety of local providers.

  • Assistance with vehicle arrival and departure

  • Overnight security provided at select overnight locations

  • VU's mechanical support team accompanies the tour daily

  • Exceptional routes and destinations designed for minimal traffic interference

VU is proud to have earned a spot as a featured shop at McPherson College's annual Career Fair in 2025. As a result, we successfully hired and housed our first summer intern from the program. Net proceeds from the Lap of the Woods will enable us to remain committed to providing paid internships, travel, and housing for the talented young technicians from McPherson College each year.
